Bhatkal celebrates Eid-ul-Adha

Bhatkal - 07 Nov 2011: Eid-ul-Adha, a festival of sacrifice was observed in Bhatkal and almost all parts of India with traditional fervour and enthusiasm. Moulana Khwaja Moinuddin Nadvi, Imam and Khateeb, Khaleefa Jama Masjid led the Eid prayers at Bhatkal Eidgah Grounds and delivered the sermon in-front of large gathering. In his Khutbah, he offered Eid greetings to all Muslims in the World and appealed for peace and harmony in the town. He said that, the Qurbani is a Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The main objective of this ritual is to remember the supreme sacrifice offered by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and to sacrifice our wishes in-front of Allah's command. He also gave useful tips in his speech.

Police department has made elaborate security arrangements for the peaceful celebration of Eid. Special Bomb and Dog squads have been deployed in the town.
