Bhatkal celebrates 67th Independence Day

Bhatkal: On the occasion of 67th Independence Day, various educational institutions, government and non-government offices in Bhatkal hoisted the tricolour and celebrated the Independence Day. A grand function was organized at Bhatkal Police Grounds for the public in which ACP V. R. P. Manohar unfurled the national flag and saluted it. Thereafter, a march past of police officers, NCC cadets and school students was led by PSI Johnson Dsouza.
Speaking at the function, ACP wished the people of Bhatkal a happy Independence Day and said that this day is of great importance to all Indians because on this day we gained independence. On this occasion, he emphasized on the importance of gaining benefit from governmental schemes.
Addressing the audience, Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya wished everyone on the occasion of Independence Day and said that we should not forget the sacrifices of the martyrs on this day because we are seeing this day only because of them. On this occasion, he also gave beneficial speech on the importance of education.
Apart from them, ASP Sudheer Kumar Reddy, Taluka Panchayat President Shanti, In-charge Tahsildar Abdul Ghani, Bhatkal block Education Officer Devidas Moger, and other people were present on the dais. Members of Bhatkal Muslim Khaleej Council and people from all faiths attended the function.
