Bhatkal: "Cash over five lakh Rupees seized after implementation of election code of conduct", says AC

Bhatkal 19 April 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Measures has been taken for conducting free and fair elections and after implementation of election code of conduct more that 5 lac cash has been seized in raids, said the Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal in a press conference on Wednesday 19th April 2018 at his office.
AC Siddeshwar on Wednesday called a press meet and said that the check posts at Honnavar, Kasarkod, Bhatkal, Sarpannkatta and others have been tightened with the security check and Rs 4,40,000 cash at Gerusappa check post and Rs. 1,00,377 cash at Gorate Checkpost has been seized.
He further said that If the seized cash exceeds Rs.10 lac then it will be handed over to Income tax department, while adding that three each flying squad working on shift has been appointed at Bhatkal as well as Honnavar. Moreover a separate team of videography and photography have also been deployed.
The Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency has 2,12,590 voters however 1381 voters has been added to it recently through one day campaign.
"There are 248 voting centers in our Constituency, where Bhatkal has 140 and Honnavar 108 centers, where drinking water, toilets and other basic facilities will be arranged to the voters" he added.
IAS officer Anand along with other election officials was present during the press conference.
