Bhatkal: Boat anchored at Bunder incurs loss worth Rs.4 lakh due to heavy rain

Bhatkal 2 July 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) A fishing boat anchored at Bhatkal port on Monday sustained damages due to heavy rain and high tides as it kept crashed to the shore. The boat 'Shantadurga' belonging to Rama Chandra Kharvi of Mavinkurva was anchored at Bhatkal Bunder on Monday when the incident was reported. According to sources, due to heavy rainfall and high tides in the sea, the boat anchored at Bhatkal port crashed to the shore damaging the cabin and the body as an impact the motor of the boat was also detached from it. The loss has been estimated to Rs.4 to 5 lakhs. The owner of the boat has registered a case at Bhatkal Rural police station regarding the issue. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
