Bhatkal: BJP felicitates Sunil Naik on being elected MLA; JD Naik gives the event a miss

Bhatkal 23 May 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Celebrating his victory in the recently held Karnataka assembly elections and becoming the MLA of Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency, Sunil Naik on Tuesday May 22 organized a party meeting wherein he thanked all the party workers, members and supporters for their constant support during the assembly elections. The meeting was chaired by BJP Bhatkal President Rajesh Naik, while senior leaders including former minister Shivanand Naik were also present during the meet. Sunil Naik, while addressing the meeting credited the victory to the party members and workers and said he won only because of the hard work put in by the supporters and workers, he also made a special mention of Uttara Kannada MP and Cabinet Minister Anantt Kumar Hegde for his support and guidance throughout the elections campaigning. Sunil promised in his address, of focusing on developmental work in the constituency while also requesting people to not to hesitate to turn to him for any aid or problems and said he will be happy to serve the people during his tenure. Sunil was later felicitated by the party members while Krishna Naik, Shivanand Naik and other leaders also addressed the meeting. Interestingly, senior BJP leader and ex-Congressman JD Naik gave the meeting a skip, he was allegedly in race to get the ticket from Bhatkal-Honnavar constituency but the high-command's last minute decision favored Sunil ahead of JD Naik. With JD Naik giving the event a skip further raises doubts about possible conflict within the party, rumors about which have been doing the rounds on social media platforms lately.
