Bhatkal: Bhatkalsports.com organize annual sports awards ceremony

Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Ismail Zaorez Bhatkal 23 Jan 2018: Bhatkalsports.com on Monday organized its third annual sports awards at YMSA ground here in Bhatkal. Over 40 athletes were awarded for their achievements across several sports, including students who were selected as university blues, school champions and players of the year of different sports. BC Ramesh, the former captain of Indian Kabbadi team was the guest of Honor during the event while Atiqur Rehman Muniri Chairman of NGT Group was the chief guest for the evening. Speaking at the event Ramesh spoke about the talent and passion he sees in Bhatkalli youngster and how institutions like Bhatkalsports.com should be vigilant to find it out and shout play the role of a scout for them. NGT Chaiman Atiqur Rehman Muniri lauded the efforts of Bhatkalsport.com MD Waseem KM and spoke about his contribution to the sports sector (especially cricket) of the community. He also encouraged the youngsters and offer any assistance if they would like to take up any sport as their profession. ANFA cricketer Imran Lanka was awarded Cricketer of the year award, Afzan Jabai Footballer of the year while Wasif Ali was awarded Kabbadi player of the year. Diyab Rahmatullah Rahi was awarded special award for representing UAE CBSE schools at National level football championship while Hussain Azman was also awarded special award for participating in Asian Karate Championship and winning silver and bronze medals. Moulana Abdul Raqeeb MJ received the Lifetime achievement award, while Abdul Basit Muallimi received gulf cricketer of the year. To recognize the sporting talents of player of Murdeshwar and Manki two players were awarded Manki Best cricketer and Murdeshwar Best cricketer. It was awarded to Sahil Sawda and Mehboob Raza respectively. Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Gen. Secy Altaf Kharuri, BMYF President Imtiyaz Udyawar, Gen Secy Naseef Khaleefa and others were present on diaz.
