Bhatkal: 30 August (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Life Care Hospital has introduced the Government’s Ayushman Bharat scheme facility, allowing patients to avail healthcare benefits using just their ration card and Aadhaar card. The announcement was made by Mohammed Yunus Kazia, President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal and Director of Life Care Hospital.

Under this scheme, most of the medical expenses of Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration card holders will be borne by the government. For Above Poverty Line (APL) card holders, up to 30 percent of treatment costs will be covered. In cases of emergency treatment or surgery, immediate assistance will be provided once confirmed by doctors.

Speaking at the launch, Mohammed Yunus Kazia expressed gratitude to the hospital team and authorities who supported the effort. “We are very happy to have an experienced team including Dr. Kenneth, Dr. Nawab and others who are committed to serving the community. It took us nearly three years to secure this facility, and now patients of Bhatkal and surrounding areas can benefit from Ayushman services without having to travel to Mangalore or other cities,” he said.

He thanked Minister Mankal Vaidya, senior Congress leader R.V. Deshpande, District Health Officer Dr. Neeraj, and Taluk Health Officer Dr. Savita for their assistance in enabling the scheme at Life Care Hospital. Kazia added that the hospital is determined to provide city-level healthcare benefits within Bhatkal itself and sought cooperation from the public and media in spreading awareness.

Hospital CEO Salman Jubapu also announced a special initiative for journalists. “We are introducing the Village Card, which will provide healthcare benefits to media professionals and their immediate family members at Life Care Hospital,” he said.
