Bhatkal: AITM host PU Science students at STEM '17 Fest

Bhatkal 11 Nov 2017: Anjuman Institute of Technology Management on Saturday organized a district level one day fest for PU Science students at its campus, wherein students of several colleges from across the district participated in two different events namely Quizomania and Model EXPO.
Around 40 local and from across the district colleges participated in the fest.
During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Phalachandra welcomed the guests and students to the fest on behalf of the institution while Prof. TM Rajkumar introduced the Chief Guest of the event, Mohsin Shabandri, Founder and Chairman of Bhatkallys Media Society.
Mohsin Shabandri in his address spoke about how the world is frequently changing and how bitcoin, Tesla, Electric car and other inventions has revolutionized the world we lived in a few years ago, and how the internet has taken the commercial world with storm with most of our buying and selling activities and transactions depending on the internet. He also added the internet and social media has given us the power to fight back and that we shall use it wisely for good.
He further stressed upon how there is a need to reform our technical syllabus if we want to excel further in the field of advanced technologies as things are changing in the world and if not reformed timely the value of education will be lost. He further advised students take up careers that interests them and not what their parents are interested in. While encouraging the students he had a few words of wisdom for them and said they need not be afraid to fail, and that they should make their dreams their life goals and work for it.
Lastly he advised students to focus more on studying at the local institutions and how the concept of 'going to Metro cities for studies help you gain more knowledge and makes you a better student' is completely false as once they go into the cities people eventually loose their peace of minds while studying in local institution can help them be the better students than cities. He then discussed how the alumnus of the Anjuman have excelled in several fields like Medical, Technology, Management and what not, before congratulating the AITM students for providing the PU students with the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Anjuman President Abdul Rahim Jukaku then addressed the event before handing a memento to Mohsin Shabandri.
Vote of Thanks by Prof. Zahid Kharuri marked the end of Inauguration event.
Later in the evening the winners for both the events Quizomania and Model expo were announced. In Quizomania Sushant Hegde and Mahesh Hegde of MES Chaitanya college Sirsi, bagged the first place while students of MES Chaitanya college sirsi Shrivastav Hegde and Samiur Rahman and Students of Nigneshwar Hegde and Raghav of SDM college Honnavar bagged the second and third place respectively.
The model expo saw students of MES Chaitanya college Sirsi Samyukta Hegde and Sourabha Hegde bagged the top spot while Muhammad Nouman, Akif Azhar Khan and Sherwin D'costa of Anand Ashram Convent PU college and Fathima Zahra, Areebah Syed and Aisha Umaina of Anjuman Girls PU college bagged second and third spot respectively.
The winners, runners up and second runners up of both the event were given cash price and certificates for their excellent performance. While other participant received certificates of participation.
