Bhatkal AC summons Municipal Chief over inaction

Bhatkal – 8 Jan 2013: Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner, Dr V P Manohar took municipal chief Ms Anupama to task for her inaction against repeated complaints by the residents of Shamsuddin circle, Gousia street and Nawayath Colony area about poor drainage system and sewage leakage. Mr Manohar warned TMC to utilize public funds in a proper channel. ‘What is point in spending public money on beautification work and constructing bus stops when the people are suffering from unhygienic conditions?’ He said, recently 35 cases of dengue have been reported in Bhatkal, if anybody dies due to dengue and other disease caused due to unhygienic and dirty atmosphere, TMC will be held responsible.
