Bhatkal: AC calls meeting to take stock of preparations for Gandhi Jayanti and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan

Bhatkal 20 September 2018:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) The Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Bhatkal Sajid Ahmed Mulla, on Wednesday called a meeting at Tahsildar's office here with the heads of various departments to take stock of the preparations for Gandhi Jayanti celebrations and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan on October 02. Sajid Mulla, while addressing the meeting instructed PDOs to take the responsibilities of spreading out the cleanliness drive and not to confine it to some localities of the town and instead should be carried out across the town. “From Sep 24th to 8th of Oct ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ program will be observed across the district as per the orders of Jilla panchyat CEO.” He added. He later added “A photo proof of the cleanliness program has to be sent to the district administration. Along with Gandhi Jayanti celebration the 4th Anniversary of Swachh Bharat has to be celebrated at each Panchayat zones. And with in 2nd of Oct the government offices of the taluk should be free from plastic materials". "Banners made out of clothes has to be used for plastic free awarness rally. Street drama and other similar programs has to be conducted to spread awareness.” he added. Taluk health officer Dr. Murthiraj Bhat, Tahsildhar V.N. Bhadkar, Bhatkal BEO M.R.
