Bhatkal: 957 quintals of Fitrah rice distributed among 1914 families this year

Bhatkal 24 June 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Markazi Fitrah Committee Bhatkal on Saturday organized a Eid Milan get together meet wherein members of several local organization and bodies including that of gulf based jamats were present. The event was organized at the Moulana Ali Miya Nadvi Academy Bhatkal on Saturday evening, where it was declared that this year a total of 957 quintals of rice was distributed among 1914 families in and around Bhatkal and that around 375 quintal of the total rice was that of members of Gulf based Jamats. Moulana Ilyas Nadvi, convenor of the committee admitted that due to the financial crisis in the gulf countries, the expected collection of Fitrah amount was not collected but nevertheless thanked the jamats for their support. He further admitted that going against the tradition this year the committee had decided to deliver the rice to the homes of the recipients, and not ask them to stand in long queues outside Masjids. Moulana Maqbool Kobatte, Moulana Abdul Mateen Muniri, Siddique Meeran also addressed the event before concluding it. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Rizwan Gangavali)
