Bhatkal: 65 BJP workers detained by Police for taking out 'Mangaluru Chalo' bike rally

Bhatkal 06 Sept 2017: More than 65 workers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing were detained today by Bhatkal Police at Shamsuddin circle after barring their ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ bike rally. The state government had denied permission to the ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ bike rally organized by the BJP from different parts of the state fearing communal unrest.

The party workers were taken to Murudeshwar Police station on police buses after seizing their bikes and before releasing them in the evening.
Speaking to the media BJP District president K G Naik said the recent murders of RSS members across the state and its improper and unjust investigation has created an sense of unrest in the Hindus and protesting against such incidents is their right and they will organize the rally at any cost.
Govind Naik, JD Naik, Rajesh Naik, Manjunath, Rekha Hegde, Sunil Niak, Lakhman Naik were among others present at the protest.
