Bhatkal: 24 year old woman commits suicide due to depression

Shirali 27 June 2018: A 24-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide due to depression, by coming under a train near Chitrapur of Bhatkal Taluk here in the wee hours of Wednesday, 27 June. The deceased has been identified as Shobha Madev Naik (24), a resident of Chitrapur of Bhatkal Taluk. According to the sources, Shobha who was working as a computer teacher at St.Thomas School of Shirali went missing around 8 pm on Tuesday. Shobha who was observed to be under depression by the family for some unknown reason stood on the railway track when Mangala Lakshadweep Express train, heading towards Delhi was passing Chitrapur of Shirali, resulting in Shobha's death on the spot. The exact reason behind her depression followed by the extreme step is yet to be ascertained. A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station and further investigations are underway.
