Bhatkal: 16 students not allowed to appear for exams, 30 remains absent on SSLC exam day

Bhatkal 24 March 2018: “30 students from Bhatkal were absent for the first language(English, Kannada, Hindi) examination that was conducted in 9 examination centers on Friday.” said the subject composer officer at BEO, Subramanya Bhat.

The first language examination on Friday were completed successfully during which 2018 student attended the exam out of 2048 students while 30 students from the Taluka remained absent.

About eight students from the examination center of Islamia Anglo Urdu school, five students from Anjuman girls high school, one from Janata Vidyalaya of Murdeshwar, three from National high school, three from Janata Vidyalaya of Shirali, and two students of Government high school Belke failed to attend the examination. However from the centers of Beena Vaidya and Government high school sonarkeri almost all students attended the examination.

16 students from the Taluka were barred by the Department from writing the examination for not maintaining minimum of 75% of attendance in school during the academic year. The BEO claimed that the decision was that of the department and the School staff and management had no role to play into it when few parents whose wards were not allowed to write examination were arguing to the school staff and alleged them of playing with the careers of students.
