Bhatkal: 1 arrested for possessing drugs

Zaorez Shabab Bhatkal 29 April 2017: Month after an illegal drugs nexus was busted by local police with the help of youth in Gulmi area of Bhatkal another youth has been arrested by the Bhatkal town police again with the help of local youth at Public park located on Bunder road Bhatkal. The arrested person has been identified as Nasir Shaikh (22) a resident of Hanifabad area in Bhatkal. As per the reports, a group of four people were using 'Ganja' in the public park in the evening when few youths from Bhatkal Muslims Youth Federation (BMYF) nabbed Nasir and handed him to the police while the other three are still on run. The accused Nasir has identified his other group members and the police is looking for them. A quantity of 380 grams of Ganja was also recovered from Nasir. The busting comes after BMYF initiated the drive to clean the community and the youth from the Drugs and appealed its members to look and report any such cases. This was the second joint operation of the youth with the local police after a drug paddler was raided few month back in the Gulmi area where 10kg of Ganja was recovered.
