Bengaluru prominent shopping mall, Mantri square closed down by BBMP second time within one month over non-payment of taxes

Bengaluru: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The famous Mantri Mall in the city was in headlines on Monday after the officials of Bruhant Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike (BBMP) closed down the mall second time in a month’s time over non-payment of taxes. The officials of BBMP arrived at the mall on Monday morning and seized entry to the building. This is the second time in less than a month’s time the officials have initiated similar action against the mall. On November 15, the mall was closed as BBMP officials demanded the payment of Rs. 27 crores taxes owed by the mall. The mall authorities had at the time paid Rs. 5 crores after which they had asked for 15 days’ time for the payment of remaining taxes. On Monday, the officials of BBMP showed up again claiming the mall had failed to pay the remaining amount and closed down the mall again.
