Bengaluru: Kings XI Nawayath emerges champions at Nawayath Cricket League

Nawayath Cricket League, a four day leather ball cricket tournament for Bhatkalli youngsters in Bengaluru concluded on Sunday, with Kings XI Nawayaths beating Al Karimi Challengers in the final match of the tournament on Sunday, thereby clinching the tournament.
Eight franchise teams participated in the event mainly sponsored by AUZ Group of Companies. The tournament was played at Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio, Bellahalli, Bengaluru.
Mohtasim Jakti, who flied down to Bengaluru from Dubai to lead his team King XI Nawayaths eventually led his team to lift the trophy here.
The tournament featured players from Bhatkal and adjoining towns who displayed their talents on the cricketing field for four days for the delight of a good set of spectators of Bhatkal community in Bengaluru.

Mr. KC Cariappa (Player - IPL), Mr. Ateeq Muniri (NGT Group), Mr. Inayatulla Shabandari (Vice President - Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem), Mr. Nauman Patel ( BMJB Bengaluru), Mr. Musaddique Ikkery (BMJB Bengaluru), Mr. Saifan Shingeri (BMJB Bengaluru), Mr. Suresh (Owner Samprasiddhi Sports Estadio) and Mr. Ishaq Siddibapa (Head - Nawayath Club Oman)” a press release from the organizers informed.
“It was a day filled with emotion, inspiration, humour and passion. People got to access and experience cutting-edge sports infrastructure and picture themselves on the edge of real-time professional league proceedings” release further added.
Imran Kundunguda of Al Karimi Challengers was adjudged player of the tournament for his performances throughout the tournament.
- Naseem Asarmatta of AUZ Strikers received Purple cap for taking most wickets in the league while Nasrullah Askeri of Bhatkal Square Riders received Orange cap for scoring the most runs in the tournament.
