Bengaluru bound bus rams in motorcycle on Bhatkal highway, 40-year-old man killed

Bhatkal: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after a collision between a private bus and a bike on National Highway-66 near Murdeshwar Basti Makki in Bhatkal taluk on Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Joseph D’Souza (40), a resident of nearby Ternamakki.

According to police, the accident occurred at around 8 pm when a private bus travelling from Bhatkal towards Bengaluru via Honnavar rammed into the motorcycle as it was crossing the highway. The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the biker with fatal injuries.

On receiving information, Murdeshwar police station PSI Hanumanth Biradar, along with staff, rushed to the spot. The body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered at the Murdeshwar police station
