NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricket team player Mohammad Kaif on Friday tweeted on blasphemous post of Facebook on the communal rioting taking place violence in West Bengal’s 24 Parganas districts.
Kaif took to twitter urging people to not malign religion by chipping in violent activities.
Kaif wrote on his twitter account that “Prophet (PBUH) Sahab is too great to be defended against facebook post” adding “damaging property worth crores and violence is absolutely against his teachings of Mohammed (PBUH) Sahab, which should be ashamed.
Kaif’s beautiful tweet has won the hearts of civilians and over 2.5 million users have retweeted the cricketer’ positive message.
The violence began on Monday after disrespectful Facebook post concerning the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by a class 11 student- a Hindu began circulating online.
On Thursday afternoon, violence-hit Basirhat virtually turned into a war zone as Hindu mobs clashed with the police and vandalised homes and shops belonging to the minorities, reported Hindustan Times.
