Beltangady: Four seriously injured in gang war; hospitalized

Zaorez Shabab Beltangady 05 Dec 2017: In reported case of gang war, four members of the gangs have sustained serious injuries and have been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru. The incident took place on December 4 Monday late night at Gerukatte in Kaliya village in the taluk. According to the reports, the gang members were involved in the fight armed with sharp weapons including swords which allegedly injured people grievously. The injured have been identified as Haris, Tasleem, Siyab, and Hameed all residents Gerukatte. Two others are reported to be injured seriously as well. Yakub from Kappetti along with his gang members  Abubakker, Irfan, Haider Adam Safi, Rauf, Rizwan, Umarabba and four others attacked the injured people when they were waiting for bus at bus stand after participating in a cricket tournament. The reason for the attack was not yet known but it is speculated that it was a minor issue which turned deadly with the issue. A case has been registered at in the town police station here.
