The rise in temperature in the region in last couple of years has been mainly credited to the deforestation drive in the coastal districts due to the National Highway widening process, which had also called for protests from several quarters of the district.
However, for a town with a 7 km's highway stretch, so many numbers of the sugarcane juice stalls has a story of the summer to tell in itself, about the impact of 'development' on the nature and environment.
