BCL III player auction: Anas Mulla top buy

Bhatkal: Mohammed Anas Mulla, also known as Brett Lee of Bhatkal, the all-rounder from Lion Sports Center was the highest buy in the Bhatkal Cricket League III (BCL) player auction, which was organized by Bhatkal Muslim Youth federation on Thursday at Afraa Marriage Hall, Bunder Road, Bhatkal. Anas Mulla, who began with a base point of one was finally bought by Team Yummy’s Sixer for a whopping 138 points.
The other biggest buys of the day were Ubadah Barmawar of Madeena (107 points to Kola Blocks), Hasnain of Al-Wafa Murdeshwar (105 points to Mankal Vaidya), Sandeep Naik of Shaheen Makhdoom (95 points); Sannan of Shaheen Murdeshwar (91 points) and Abdul Muqeet (72 points) of Prince Manki was bought by team Ell Fiber Net.
Nasrullah Askeri of Moonstar was bought for 99 points by Amchi Team while Royal all-rounder Fouzan Armar was bought for 95 points by Street Warriors while young and talented all-rounder Mohammed Waseem of Superstar was bought by Team K Sports and team B XI bought Abdul Gaffar of SYWA for 85 points.
Eventually, 192 cricketers were sold from a total number of 308 players who were in the auction. It is to be noted that a total of 330 players had registered their names for the auction. The twelve franchises which took part in the auction were allocated a total of 300 points from which they had to buy 16 players for their team. The franchises in the auction were: Yummy’s Sixer, Kola Block, Ell Fiber Net, B XI, Patel Challengers, K Sports, Tippu warriors, Street warriors, Crazy day, Amchi Team, Boom Boom Silver and Mankal Vaidya.
The auction began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an by Ahmed Raba while BMYF General Secretary Moulana Irfan SM welcomed the gathering. The auction was inaugurated by unveiling of BCL III logo by general secretary of Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem, Mohiddin Altaf Kharuri. Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation president Mr. Imtiyaz Udayawar presided over the function and sport secretary Mr. Naseef Khalifa delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was hosted by BMYF executive member Mr. Mubasshir Hallare.
The opening ceremony of BCL III will be held at Kola Ground, Bhatkal on 27th April 2016 and matches will commence from 28th of April 2016.
