Bhatkal 21 June 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Fahiman Mohtesham who was sent to judicial custody of 10 days applied for his bail on Thursday, which the magistrate said will be decided on Friday. Fahiman was sent to a 10 day's judicial custody on 17 June, in connection with the case of mixing water into the petrol at a petrol station of which he is a licensee. The case was filed earlier this year by Channa Ansar, when his brand new car's engine was seized while travelling, allegedly after filling petrol from his petrol station which has stirred a controversy then. The police case was followed by inspection of petrol by both police and the petrol company's agents. Initial footage of extracting petrol from Ansar's car showed a water like liquid coming out from the petrol tank, further supporting the allegations of Ansar Channa. Following the incident several other drivers and residents turned to Bhatkallys.com then explaining their similar experiences after filling petrol from the same petrol station and how the petrol authorities tried to resolve the issue quietly by bearing the expenses of repairing their vehicles. On Thursday, according to the sources in police department, the department has opposed the bail application by Fahiman and is hopeful that he won't secure bail on Friday. Ansar while speaking to Bhatkallys.com said "The truth will prevail, I have continuously followed up the case and I will fight till the end, and will not settle for anything less than seizure of the petrol station, they have been defrauding their own people by involving themselves into such activities, now they should bear the consequences". Investigating officer PSI Basavaraj, refused to comment on the issue owing to a circular that was passed recently, making only Dy.SP to comment on cases and issue statements to the media, however Bhatkal Dy.SP Valentin D'Souza was not available to comment on the issue.
