Auto driver dies in accident trying to avoid collision with cow in Bhatkal

In a recent incident near Kotakhanda of Marukeri, an auto-rickshaw driver lost his life after sustaining severe injuries in an attempt to avoid a collision with a cow that unexpectedly appeared on the road. 

The driver, identified as Nagesh Krishna Gonda, was en route from Bhatkal to Marukeri when the accident took place.

The auto-rickshaw veered out of control as Gonda attempted to evade the cow, resulting in the vehicle toppling on the road. Gonda suffered critical injuries in the mishap.

Locals rushed him to Manipal Hospital for medical treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries midway, near Gorate Cross.

The passenger in the auto-rickshaw, identified as Nagaraj Naik, sustained minor injuries in the incident but is reported to be out of danger.

A formal complaint was lodged by Naik, leading to the registration of a case at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
