SYDNEY: Thousands of Australians rallied behind the Palestinians in Gaza on Saturday, condemning the brutal Israeli aggression on the occupied territory, killing about 2,000 Palestinians, including women and children. Speakers urged the international community to free Gaza from the Israeli blockade and stop the Zionist state’s continuing aggression on Gazans. The rally was organized by different human rights groups in the country, said one source, adding that a large number of people, irrespective of their cast and religion, took part in demonstrations. “The rally was held in the heart of the city,” the source said, adding that pro-Gaza demonstrators covered about two kilometers, shouting slogans against Israeli barbarism and genocide. “At the end there was a play to demonstrate the suffering of women and children in Gaza as a result of Israeli bombardment,” the source said. Members of the Palestine Action Group, meanwhile, are planning another march to protest the holding of an Israeli film festival in the country. Arab News
