Atikaram Horta Samiti demands formation of new committee for town area

23 Sep 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In an effort to widen the reach and gain momentum, Atikaram Horta Samiti recently submitted a memorandum to the state government through the Assistant Commissioner Korma Rao demanding formation of new forest committee for the town area. On this occasion, the committee's district president Ravindranath said a state government ruling in 2010 allowed inclusion of the town area in the committee. In a recently held meeting, it was decided that in town areas of Bhatkal, Dandeli, Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Sirsi, Yellapur, Honnavar, Mundgod, and Hulyal committee will work hard and initiate action in getting lands sanctioned. On this occasion, Rama Moger, Devraj Marathi, Ajeet Bendegri, Sulaiman, Ashfaque, Abdul Qayyum and others were present.
