New Delhi: AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday gave a “caste” twist to BJP MP Pragya Singh Thakur’s “toilet” remark and said that she believes in the caste and class discrimination happening in India. The BJP MP from Bhopal on Sunday sparked a controversy by saying that she was “not elected to clean toilets”. “Hum naali saaf karney k liye nahi baney hai. Aapka shauchalyay saaf karney k liye toh bilkul nahi baney gaye hai. Hum jis kaam k liye banaye gaye hai wo kaam hum imandari se karenge (I was not elected to clean the drains. I have not at all been made (MP) to clean your toilets. For which I have been made (an MP), I will honestly work towards that,” Thakur can be heard speaking to an audience as they intently agree to her words. Slamming Thakur for her remark, Owaisi said, “Not at all surprised, neither I'm shocked by this obnoxious statement... she says this because that is her thought process. The BJP MP believes in the caste and class discrimination which is happening in India.” “She also clearly tells that the kind of work the caste has defined, that should continue. It is very unfortunate. Also, she has openly opposed the PM's program,” he was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. Source: Times Now
