Bhatkallys News Bureau Honnavar 12 Dec 2017: On Monday evening, IGP Western Range Hemanth Nimbalkar categorically denied that any assault or torture had taken place on Paresh Mesta before his death. Nimbalkar also released a letter from Dr Shankar M Bakkannavar, Associate Professor at the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. The forensic science expert has answered 19 questions in which he has asserted that there was no external or internal injury, no torture and no strangulation or haemorrhage. The report however mentions two injuries, and that one could have been caused by blunt force. Soon the local BJP leaders including  Udupi-Chikmagalur MP and Gen. Secy. of Karnataka BJP Shobha Karandlaje jumped in to call the report a 'cover up' by Siddaramaiah led Congress government. In a tweet Shobha demanded intervention of Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the case and also demanded investigation of the doctor who prepared the report. Earlier in another video interview to the India Today, she is seen alleging that the 'Jihadi Elements' were behind the murder of the 21 year old Mesta, and had blamed CM Siddaramaiah of ignoring the cases of murders of BJP and RSS workers in a bid to gain votes from the minorities by not investigating them. She also openly alleged that Popular Front of India (PFI) is trained by the ISIS and they are the perpetrators of all the murders of RSS and BJP workers in the region. Meanwhile Siddaramaiah in a tweet on Tuesday morning blamed BJP National President Amit Shah, for heeding his advises to the local BJP leaders to create trouble in the region for for their political gains. On Monday after the forensic report was made public IG Western Range Hemanth Nimbalkar had issued a press release stating "Proper action will be initiated as per law against the people who have abetted the communal incidences at Honnavara including assault on public servants today at Kumta."
