Apply for post-Matric scholarship before September 30: Bhatkal Minority officer Shamsuddin

Bhatkal 13 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The last date to apply for the post-matric scholarship for the minority students by the Government of Karnataka,for the academic year 2018-19 is set to be 30 September 2018, Bhatkal Taluka Minority Officer Shamsuddin informed Bhatkallys.com.
Directorate of Minorities, Department of Minority Welfare has invited applications for post-Matric and Merit Cum Means scholarships (Fresh and renewal) for the year 2018-19.
The scholarships will be awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% of marks or equivalent grade in previous year/last exam with pass certificate, while the annual income of the student's parents/guardians from all sources should not exceed Rs. 2 lac for Post Matric Scholarhips and 2.5 lac for Merit Cum Means/ Top c;ass scholarship.
Students of Karnataka domicile studying in other states are also eligible to apply for the scholarships in Karnataka while students of other states studying in Karnataka are not eligible to apply from Karnataka.
Students pursuing correspondence education and certificate courses or training are not eligible to apply for scholarship.
A bank account with nationalized bank (On the students’ name) with Aadhar number linked is also mandatory, and the students/schools will have to apply for the scholarships online as no other mode of application will be accepted.
"These scholarships must be utilized by all those who fall under the category and are eligible, the money that is sanctioned for this should be utilized as this is an investment by the government for the future of this country" Shamsuddin added while speaking to Bhatkallys.com
“People can apply by simply visiting the online portal http://scholarships.gov.in from they can click on New Registration tab and follow the instructions to apply” he added.
Post Matric students need not upload their documents while supporting file type for uploading documents are PDF, JEP, JEPG with maximum file size of 200 KB for Merit cum means and Top Class students.
“I want to create awareness within people about the schemes government provides as our people are unaware of it and most of the sanctioned money goes back to the government unused” he added.
