Apple making 1,50,000 iPhone 5 a day

New Delhi - 09 Sep 2011:Appleis gearing up to meet the anticipated heavy demand foriPhone 5following its launch next month.

Apple's contract manufacturerFoxconnis reportedly working overtime to produce 150,000 units of iPhone 5 every day, thereby taking the total production to approximately between 5-6 million per month.

Industry watchers say this is the highest ever production of any Apple product so far. Apple is hoping bumper sales of its forthcoming latest iPhone. When contacted, a company spokesperson said Apple does not comment on speculative reports.

But if the industry speculation is to be believed, Apple is ramping up its production in a bid to stay ahead of an anticipated worldwide frenzy to buy the iPhone 5. Apple is said to be gearing up to launch iPhone 5 in the first week of October, with pre-orders starting as early as 29th September.

A DigiTimes report quoted industry sources as saying the shipments of iPhone 5 from the supply chain are expected to reach 5-6 million in September and top over 22 million units in the fourth quarter.

The report also claims lens maker Largan Precision, touch panel maker TPK Holding, reinforced glass supplier G-Tech Optoelectronics and battery vendors Simplo and Dynapack are all operating at full swing ahead of the impending launch.

The fifth-generation iPhone is likely to be thinner than its predecessor and have an 8 megapixelcamera. Several other reports claim that the upcoming phone will pack a faster dual core processor andLED flash.

For weeks, the iPhone 5 rumour mill has been working overtime, churning out various speculated details of its looks, design, expected features and release dates.
