APCR State President and Gen. Secy. visits Bhatkal for Legal awareness program

Zaorez Shabab Bhatkal 26 Dec 2017: Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) Uttar Kannada district chapter organized an Legal awareness program for its District Committee members and members of several organization from across the district in the backdrop of recent violence and communal clashes in the district. The event was organized at Kazia Hassan Hall of Rabita Complex, wherein the state leadership of the association including State President Saduddin Saleh, Gen. Secy. Niyaz Ahmed (both of them High Court of Karnataka's practicing lawyers)along with State coordinator and prominent RTI Activist of Karnataka Shaikh Shafi interacted with the people. People from clashes hit town Kumta and Sirsi were also present during the event and expressed their grievances about the whole incident to the state leadership, while people from Murdeshwar and elsewhere reported their respective issues seeking the legal guidance from the office bearers of the association. CLICK HERE FOR MORE PICTURES FROM THE EVENT During the interaction Saduddin Saleh briefed about the solutions to the problems presented before them, while Niyaz Ahmed explained how APCR is constantly working selflessly to save and protect the civil rights of the citizen. Shaikh Shafi briefed about filing RTIs and making use of the service in a better way and also spoke about ways of dealing with different department officials efficiently. Saddudin Saleh batted for working towards improving the situation in the district and urged people to make their relations better with people of different communities in order to avoid such scenarios in future. Niyaz Ahmed explained the legal ways in which the situation can be dealt and requested people not to take law into their hands in whatsoever situation and scenarios. People from several parts of the district urged the association for building more units of the association in the district including one each in their towns like Murdeshwar, Kumta and Sirsi among others. APCR District Gen Secy Qamaruddin Mashaikh assured the attendees of reviewing their request of building APCR units across the district and also informed the media of organizing a workshop on RTI and legal awareness open for public in January. APCR Uttar Kannada District president Moulana SM Zubair, Qamaruddin Mashaikh, Nashit Mashaikh, Asif, were present during the event with other activists from Bhatkal, Murdeshwar, Kumta and Sirsi.
