Another Bhatkal man arrested at Mangalore Airport with Gold

Mangalore – Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officials arrested one more passenger who was trying to smuggle gold at Managalore International Airport within four days. Abdul Ghani who was allegedly smuggling 3 Kilograms of gold is the second person from Bhatkal who was arrested on smuggling charges, the first one was arrested on February 16, just four days ago. Ghani, who landed at Mangalore International Airport from Dubai on a Jet Airways flight early Wednesday morning, was intercepted by the officials. He was found carrying gold ornaments hidden in a food bag. He was arrested for violation of Section 135 of the Customs Act. He has been remanded to judicial custody till March 6.
