Ankola police arrests school principal for allegedly harassing female students

Ankola 24 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Ankola police on Wednesday took a Government school principal under their custody for physically harassing the female students here at Bole Hosagadde village of Ankola Taluka.
On Wednesday, during the school hours, the parents of the students along with other villagers reached Government school and started to interrogate school Principal Shekhar Gaonkar for alleged physical harassment of the female students. However, the police interfered and took the Principal under their custody based on the allegations by the villagers.
The Government school has a total of 34 students, with 19 boys and 15 female students. It has been said that the principal used to Physically harass the female students of the school.
Speaking in this regard, PSI Shridhar SR said, "We have already taken Shridhar into custody and the matter has been brought to the notice of Children and Women's welfare department. Soon a representative will come here from the department for counselling of the Victims and based on their reports case will be registered against him. However a written complaint has already submitted by the villagers”
Reacting on the incident Gram Panchayath president said “Such people are not eligible to be teachers. There is no point in transferring him to other place. He should be put behind the bars”
On this occasion villagers including Tulasi Gowda, Madevi Gowda, Bhavani Gowda, Vigneshwar Gowda, Panduranga, Umesh and others were present near the school.
