Ankola: One arrested while smuggling Sangwan tree

Anokla 26 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau)Ankola Forest Officials on Monday arrested a man while he was smuggling Sagawan (Teak) tree worth Rs.1 lakh here at Mastikatta forest range of Ankola Taluka.
The detained has been identified as Abdul Raheem Muhammed Ishaq of Kumta Taluka.
Working on crediable information, the forest officials chased Raheem when he was allegedly smuggling Sagawan woods near Mastikatta and nabbed him there.
The Police seized the Sagawan tree worth Rs. one lakh and the vehicle being used for transportation.
The forest officials including RFO VP Naik, Dy RFO HG Kundagola, Chennappa, Rudragowda Patil, Rahul Bammanapada, Rajesaheb were part of the operation.
