Ankola man dies after slipping into sea in a drunk state in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 07 November 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Body of 37-year-old man who allegedly slipped into the sea and drowned under the influence of Alchohol on Monday night has been recovered on Tuesday afternoon here at Tengingundi beach of Bhatkal Taluka. The deceased has been identified as Uday Nagappa Harikanth, a resident of Ankola. On Tuesday morning the locals here at the Tengingundi beach noticed an unidentified body that was floating along the waves here. As soon as the local police was alerted, police personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Bhatkal government hospital for post mortem. Talking to Bhatkallys.com the official from Bhatkal rural police station added “The photo of the deceased was circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp for his identification. However, on Tuesday night around 11 pm the family of the deceased came at the police station and identified the body and claimed it, after following procedure we handed over the body to the family.” The police also added that Uday had come to Bhatkal for fishing when he fell into the sea after drinking too much. A case has been registered at Bhatkal rural police station. (Bhatkallys News Bureau)
