Bhatkal - 23 June 2011: After reports of ragging in Anjuman Engineering College published in some Kannada newspapers, Anjuman administration in its press release strongly denied the allegations and termed it as a conspiracy to malign the reputation of Isnstitution. According to the press release issued by the AEC Pricipal, Dr Noor Ahmed, there was no such incident took place in the college premises as the examinations are going on in the college and there are very few students staying in the hostels. He said, the person who filed a police complaint has nothing to do with the college as came here to write his examinations and the other students involved are also not the regular students of college. They had completed their course long back.
Providing the details he said, we had no idea about the police complaint and the quarrel between students. We came to know about this through media reports. He said, this is admission time, and students from far places come to Anjuman Engineeering College because of its quality of education and excellence. He said, as the newspaper itself claimed that the incident occurred outside college premises on the road and none of the students are presently studying in the college. Therefore this incident cannot be termed as college ragging.
According to Anjuman Secretary Abdul Azeem, Anjuman Engineering College is a minority educational institution and publishing such baseless and wrong reports is an attempt to tarnish the image of the institution just before commencement of new academic year.
