Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College wins District Level football tournament

Bhatkal 23 February 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College and PG Centre (Anjum an Degree College), emerged as the champions of Uttara Kannada District level football tournament organised by Uttar Kannada district football association (UKDFA),affiliated to Karnataka state football association (KSFA). The final match of the tournament was played on Feb 22, Friday at Bhatkal Taluka Stadium Bhatkal. The teams were divided into two groups, consisting four teams each, and the top two teams of each group made it to the semi-finals. Anjuman PU college and AITM teams made it to the semi final from Group A, while from Group B, Anjuman Degree College and Jamiya made it into the semi-finals. Eventually, AITM and Anjuman Degree College made it to the finals of the tournament wherein the latter defeated AITM by 1-0 margin. The champion team was awarded as rolling trophy and medals, while runner-up AITM player were awarded medals. Taluka JDS President and Vice President Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal, Inayathullah Shabandri was the chief guest during the closing ceremony. Other guests during the ceremony included, President of UKDFA Aheed Mohtisham, Prominent social worker Nazeer Kashimji, Bhatkal FC President Mohammed Ganim, Uttarkannada bodybuilding Association vice president Azeezurrahman Ruknuddin Nadwi, and Physical director of Anjuman Degree College Prof. Kaleemulla. Arafah of AITM was awarded Best Striker of the tournament, Mibzal Shabandri was awarded Best Goal Keeper, while Abdul Mueed of AITM and Tamjeed of Anjuman Degree College were awarded Best Play Maker and Best Defender respectively.
