Angry mob ransacks Heble Panchayat office

13th June 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Perturbed for long, angry residents from Heble Gram Panchayat region today ransacked the Heble Gram Panchayat office. The infuriated mob said that even after waiting in the ration card application queue for the whole day they have to return back empty-handed. They alleged that the panchayat workers secretly process applications of affluent from the back-door. The mob was on the verge of resorting to violence, but police officials reached there promptly and settled the matter. Looking at the outraged sentiments of the protesters, panchayat officials have scheduled a meeting tomorrow at 3:00 pm. The incensed protesters have demanded that the panchayat office be shut down till that time. It may be noted that the public has been aggravated due to sluggish processing of ration card applications. Concerned officers should inspect the reason for delays and should take strict action against corrupt officers.
