Anand Asnotikar files nomination papers, CM Kumaraswamy, other leaders accompany

Bhatkal/Karwar 4 April 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Accompanied by Chief Minister HD Kumarswamy, JDS Candidate from Uttara Kannada, Anand Asnotikar on Thursday filed his nomination for here at District Commissioner’s Office in Karwar.
Asnotikar who was elected as a Member of Legeslative Assembly (MLA) on Congress ticket on 2008 from Karwar assembly constituency, resigned from the party and had joined the then ruling BJP. He has served as the minister for fisheries, science and technology in the state cabinet. Asnotikar won the subsequent by-polls from Karwar on BJP ticket, but lost during the 2013 Assembly polls. However, he later switched his loyalty towards JD(S) and contested 2018 legislative assembly from Karwar constituency where he was overpowered by BJP candidate Rupali Naik.
Details about the candidate
The 39-Year-old JD(S) Candidate completed his Master of Arts (MA) degree from Karnataka State Open University Mysore in the year 2010.
Asnotikar in his Affidavit, declared a total asset of Rs.62,69,64,124/-(Movable asset- Rs.4,98,86,695/- and immovable asset- Rs.57,70,77,429/-). While his total liability amounts to Rs. 2,38,00,806/-.
Asnotikar who filed his nomination as a JDS candidate for Uttara Kannada Constituency will face the five times Member of Parliment of Uttara Kannada constituency Anant Kumar Hegde as a rival in upcoming Lok Sabha Election. The constituency will go into polling day on April 23, while the results will be announced on May 23.
Along with CM HD Kumarswami, Bhatkal JDS leader Inaytullah Shabandari, District Congress president Bhimanna Naik Bhatkal Ex-MLA Mankal Vaidya and others were present while submitting the nomination.
