Aligarh/New Delhi: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) rusticated a Kashmiri student for praising a terrorist outfit on social media after the attack on Awantipora region of Pulwama district of Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday. The attack claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorist Adil Ahmad Dar rammed an explosive-laden Scorpio into the 78-vehicle convoy of CRPF. The convoy was plying on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. AMU spokesperson Omar Peerzada said the student the varsity suspended an undergraduate student of Kashmiri origin for lauding a terrorist organisation on social media. He said the matter is being further probed and "strong deterrent action" once the probe is completed. "AMU has zero tolerance for any such pernicious activity and anyone indulging in such an act will not be spared," Peerzada said. The alleged post by the student sparked an outrage on social media after which AMU suspend him. India strongly condemned the Pulwama terror on Thursday. MEA in a statement blamed the Pakistan government for providing "full freedom" to the dreaded terrorist Masood Azhar-led organisation to carry out and expand its operations in Pakistan and target India with full impunity. The government also demanded the international community to take steps to support the proposal to list terrorists, including JeM Chief Masood Azhar, as a designated terrorist and to ban terrorist organisations operating from territories controlled by Pakistan. It is to be noted that China has repeatedly blocked India's efforts in the UN to list Azhar as a global. Source: Times Now
