Mysuru: Till now, Dasara festival has always had stalls that showcased mostly the cultural, artistic and food diversity of the state. However, for the very first time, almost all the Universities of the state are going to open their own stalls at the Dasara venue, this year, showcasing the educational options in the state.
The Dasara festival will kick start on October 10 and the Chief Secretary has directed the heads of all the government departments to make sure that the stalls are already before the inauguration of the Dasra exhibition.
To provide information about various universities, Higher Education Minister GT Devegowda instructed all University Vice-Chancellors across the state to put up stalls at the Dasara exhibition. The platform will enable the visitors to know more about various universities across the state.
Speaking to Newskarnataka NM Shashikumar, Chief Executive Officer, Karnataka Exhibition Authority said “District Minister GT Devegowda has come up with this idea to provide information on all universities in a state on a single one platform. He has instructed all the VCs to set up stalls at Dasara exhibition ground. We have earmarked separate places for University stalls."
Shashikumar said that special attention is being paid to keep the stalls ready on the day of inauguration itself as last year the stalls were ready almost 15 days after the inauguration.
