Air India to offer more flights from Middle East

Dubai, Dec 13,2010:The Middle East is one of the largest and most important markets for Air India and the air carrier now plans to offer flights from the Gulf region to places like South East Asia, Kathmandu, Sri Lanka, SAARC countries and New York, via New Delhi, a senior official has said.

"We are also offering Delhi hub for selling in this market where the passengers can travel from Gulf to South East Asia, Kathmandu, Sri Lanka, SAARC countries and West bound New York via India," said Air India Regional Manager -- Gulf, Middle East and Africa Abhay Pathak.

Mr. Pathak was speaking on the occasion of the Annual Agency Award function for the year 2009-2010 in Dubai.

He said the airline is exploring the possibility of offering tailor-made packages to address customers' needs, adding that a new state-of-the-art fleet is already being put together.

Pathak also noted that the airline continues to connect difficult destinations such as Kabul.
