Abdul Rahim Sheikh grabbed 10 votes against Imran lanka who ended up with 7 votes. Following which Shameem Hawaldaar on Tanzeem’s instruction withdrew her nomination from the elections which meant Lakshmi Naik was escalated as vice president without elections. Jali Patan Panchyath consist of 20 members out which 11 are Tanzeem backed candidates, 5 of whom are backed Congress Party and 3 members represent BJP and 1 one independent candidate. It was believed before elections that Tanzeem’s Nominees would win the election with clear Majority, but the results of the elections took most of the people by shock, as cross voting by the members was not something Tanzeem had expected here, some people believe Tanzeem failed to take in confidence the MLA of Bhatkal Mankal Vaidya before elections which led to loosing the votes of Congress Members as well.
