Advocate Naushad Kashimji murder: Five convicted

Mangaluru: Five accused in murder of advocate Naushad Kashimji has been convicted by the third additional district and sessions court on Wednesday November 25. Two others have been acquitted. The convicted are Dinesh Shetty, Ritesh, Ganesh, Pratap Shetty and Subrahmanya; two other suspects Shivprakash and Ravi Shukwani were acquitted. Charges against the convicted were filed under IPC Section 302, 201, 120 B, 34 and under Arms Acts sections 3, 25 and 27. It should be noted that Advocate Naushad had represented Rashid Malbari, an associate of Dawood Ibrahim. However, he was shot dead at his residence in Falnir on April 9, 2009. - Agencies
