Accompanied by former CM Jagadish Shettar, Anant Kumar Hegde files nomination from Uttara Kannada

Bhatkal/Karwar 3 April 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and the Member of Parliament from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency Anant Kumar Hegde on Tuesday filed his nomination from the constituency here at District Commissioner’s office at Karwar.
He was accompanied by former CM and senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar along with other MLAs and MLCs of the constituency. Hegde took out a rally from Karwar BJP office to the office of Deputy Commissioner and Election Commissioner amidst pro-Modi slogans before filing his nomination.
Earlier, Hegde along with his family members, Hegde offered a puja at the Mahadev Temple in Baad locality of the city before taking out the procession.
About the BJP Candidate
A native from Sirsi, 51 years old Minister Anant Kumar Hegde has completed his education till 2nd PUC at MM Arts and Science College Sirsi in 1992.
Hegde has declared a total assets worth Rs. 2,82,78,938.90/- (movable assets- Rs.35,36,136.90/- and immovable asset-Rs.2,47,42,802/-) while his total liabilities amounts to Rs.1,27,64,035.61/-. However, the minister’s wife has a total asset of Rs.5,62,51,661/- and a liability of Rs. 2,82,52,619.57. While the two children of the minister have saving bank balance of Rs.72,836/- and 1,52,018.95/- respectively.
MLAs including Roopali Naik, Sunil Naik, Dinakar Shetty, Mahantesh Doddagoudar, MLC S.V. Sankanur, president of the party’s district unit K.G. Naik and other leaders were also present with the minister in Karwar.
Hegde has won five times and has lost once from the constituency and on Tuesday he filed his nomination papers for the seventh time.
