Bhatkal, 5 July 2017 (Bhatkallys News) – Residents are calling on municipal authorities to complete drainage works near Bhatkal’s Shamsuddin Circle as the area has started filling up with construction waste and large potholes.
Local residents allege an unfinished waterway has become a road hazard with thousands of motorists dodging bricks, potholes and concrete blocks every day on the national highway. The blocked waterway is spilling over water in large quantities on the roads as Bhatkal experiences peak rainy weather during June, July and August.
Recent reports of people falling into drain holes in the area has sparked fresh concerns over the unfinished project.
Bhatkallys.com calls on Bhatkal Municipality to clear the road hazards and finish the project before a major accident takes place in the area.
