AC convenes meet on preparedness for monsoon, disaster

May 20, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: Ahead of the onset of monsoon, the Assistant Commissioner of Bhatkal Mr. Chidananda Vittare convened a meeting to discuss preparedness for rains and any natural disaster. The meeting chaired by the Assistant Commissioner was attended by representatives of various departments to review the status of preparedness for south-west monsoon and discuss other disaster management related issues. Addressing the officials at the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner emphasized on the need to clean the drains to help prevent flooding. He urged the officials to work in collaboration with representatives of IRB, the company officially working on maintenance and widening of NH-66. On this occasion, some officials highlighted the lack of facilities and appealed to the administration to fulfil it at the earliest. Municipality Chief Manjama, Vice President Dr. Saleem, Tahsildar V N Badkar, and others were present at the occasion. - ARF
