9,60,00 kg of Fitra rice distributed in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: This year, 9,60,00 kg of Fitra rice was collected by Fitra Committee Bhatkal (Karnataka) and was distributed on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr itself. This announcement was made by convenor of Fitra Committee Bhatkal, Maulana Mohammed Ilyas Nadvi Bhatkali after Asr prayers today at Abul Hasan Islamic Academy in an Eid-milan function organized by the committee. 9,60,00 kg of rice that amounted to more than Rs 28 lacks was distributed to 1436 families in Shirur, Bhatkal, Honnavar, and Kumta.
It may be noted that the organized arrangement of collection and distribution of Fitra rice is being carried out in Bhatkal since past 28 years and all praise be to Almighty there has been progress in it year after year. This has been possible due to cooperation from various associations in the Gulf, youths of sports centers and interest by local youths, leaders and scholars of the community.
On this occasion, Chairman of Rabita Society and Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, SM Syed Khaleel-ur-Rehman, Maulana Ayub Barmawar Nadvi, members of various Bhatkal Muslim Associations in Gulf, educational and social institutions in Bhatkal - Tanzeem, Anjuman, and Jamia, and elders, scholars of Bhatkal contributed actively towards the success of this work.
