Hyderabad: Agastaya Jaiswal, a nine-year-old kid from Hyderabad, created a record when he passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC —10th standard) examinations, results of which were announced on Sunday by Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, who also hold the education portfolio.
Agastaya scored 7.5 grade to become the youngest to pass the examinations conducted by the Telangana Board of Secondary Education. He enrolled in the 10th standard at St. Hills High School, Chandrayangutta, in the Old City when he was 8 years and 10 months.
The child prodigy, born on August 13, 2005, is known to be a curious child and loves asking questions. His parents Ashwani Kumar Jaiswal and Bhagya Lakshmi encouraged him to learn in a fun atmosphere and fulfilled all his needs and answered his questions whenever possible. The child, whose favorite subjects are Mathematics and languages, was trained under the guidance of his parents at home, and he knows multiplication tables up to 100 and has the ability to write essays on over 20 topics.
Interestingly, the hunger for excellence seems to run in the family. Agastya’s sister Naina Jaiswal became India’s youngest graduate (in Mass Communication) when she completed her bachelor’s degree in 2014 when she was 13-years-old, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree. She also passed her SSC exam when she was eight, and intermediate examination at the age of 10. She is also an international level table tennis player.
