79 prisoners to walk free on Gandhi Jayanthi

Bengaluru: The governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala agreed to release 79 prisoners before completing their jail term who maintained good behavior while imprisoned. According to the sources in the state Home department, the department of prisons had submitted a list of 107 prisoners for the early release. The home department shortlisted 93 names and sent it for the approval of the governor. The governor's office agreed for the early release the 79 prisoners. "A final list expected to be made public in next couple of days. All these prisoners will be released on October 2," said an officer. Source: News Karnataka
